Here is what it looks like in practice. A staff member ex= ports a donation report from the payment processor. They paste it into a= spreadsheet. They check for duplicates. They cross-reference another li= st to find who has not given in 90 days. Then someone sends a thank-you = three days after the gift came in.

That sequenc= e probably takes four to five hours a week. Across a year, that is 260 h= ours. More than six full weeks of someone's working time spent moving da= ta from one place to another.
